SAFETY INFORMATION - PRODUCT RECALL

Certain Ford motor-coach chassis models (type- A, B and C included) in the 1992-2004 model years may have a faulty "Speed Control Deactivation Switch" (SCDS).  A potential defect in the switch, over many years of vehicle life, has been linked to the possibility of an under-hood fire.  The Ford Motor Company has issued Recall 05S28 to address this issue, by installing a fused wiring harness in the "cruise control" system.  This recall includes non-Ford brand motor coaches built on Ford chassis.

To determine if your motor coach is affected by this recall, proceed as follows:

1) Log on to www.ownerconnection.com, click on Recall Information, and enter your Ford motor coach's Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

2) Call the Ford Motorhome Customer Assistance Center toll-free, at 1 (800) 444 3311, available 24 hours per day.  Please have your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) close to hand.

3) You can also call the Ford Customer Relationship Center toll-free, at 1 (888) 222 2751 voice, or 1 (800) 232 2592 TDD, available from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM local time.  Please have your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) close to hand.

The Ohio Nomads wish you Safe & Happy Travels.

Far Travels

Your volunteer Chapter Webmaster went far afield last October, attending the Rocky Mountain Ramble Area Rally in Farmington, New Mexico.  He hosted seminars on Chapter Web Sites, from the FMCA Chapter Webmasters' Group, and Digital Cameras, from the Micro Center computer-store chain.  The latter seminar drew a "full house" of one hundred attendees, and more than seventy evaluations were turned in.
